Heritage Escapes welcomes visitors, their EV cars and their bikes!

EV Charging at High Barn Cottages and Field House Farm Cottages

We have  installed four Type  2 Untethered 7Kwh chargers onsite at our coastal properties – three in the courtyard at Field House and one in the car-park at High Barn.  We make a small  charge for this shared  facility and we ask that you request usage from a member of the team. We can also offer a seven pin universal cable.

We regret we are unable to provide this facility for our visitors  in York.

Cycling on Holiday in Yorkshire

Cycling on holiday has become increasingly popular with many of our visitors. Most bring their own cycles, which we can happily accommodate in all three sites in a secure, locked environment.

At High Barn we have a designated keypad- operated cycling pod and charging point. CCTV

At Field House we have both undercover storage and lockable storage and charging points. CCTV

At York Old Brewery we have cellar storage. Visitors to request key in advance of stay. CCTV

We can provide information about bike hire.

National and Local Cycle Routes Nearby

At our cottages on the coast we are sited on one of Sustrans designated cycle routes. It is easy to download brilliant cycle routes, mapped out by East Yorkshire Council, across the quiet rural roads of The Yorkshire Wolds . The North Yorkshire Moors and Dales are better known and very conveniently placed for York. You’ll discover a wide variety of both challenging and easier routes.

Bridlington is the finish point of the long distance Way of the Roses cycle route, which starts at Morecambe Bay and ends at Bridlington North Bay, just about a mile from our cottages here at Field House and High Barn.

Cycling in The Dalby Forest has fantastic rough terrain cycling with green through to black runs and is about 45 minutes  by car from the coast  and a little less from York. It provides a wonderful day outdoors, as there are plenty of other facilities on offer for the non-cyclists in the family/group such  as Go Ape

Be adventurous! Try a cycling holiday or incorporate cycling into your holiday. John and I have returned to cycling as a great way to really appreciate the local countryside and of course, James and his young family have fun on their bikes. It’s good for the environment, plus your health! We’re probably years older than you are, so give it a go.
