Mother’s Day Weekend
Mum, Granny, Sister, Auntie – these special people, close to you , deserve some time off and, with Mother’s Day Weekend coming up, the stunning Yorkshire Coast and the East Yorkshire Wolds provide the perfect location.
We have twelve individually styled country cottages at two delightful rural locations, High Barn and Field House, hidden away in the countryside, just a couple of miles from Yorkshire’s famous coast. The cliffs and coves of Flamborough Head, the endless sandy beaches of Bridlington, the delights of Sewerby Hall and gardens are all on our doorstep. And, as reported in the press this week, the puffins have just begun to return to their burrows and, within days, will soon be visible in much greater numbers at RSPB Bempton Cliffs
You will all find it easy to unwind from the stresses of everyday life and recharge in the health-giving coastal air. Nothing beats a refreshing walk along the cliffs from Sewerby down to Bridlington Harbour or a lazy stroll along the soft, sandy shore. If you want to be more active, there are three golf courses within three miles –https://www.pure-leisure.co.uk/parks/bridlington-links-golf-leisure-estate/ https://flamboroughheadgolfclub.co.uk/ https://belvederehotelandgolf.co.uk/
Why not call in at one of the many friendly eating places in our area and enjoy a competitively priced snack, drink or a meal out. A weekend without thinking about food shopping and preparing meals is a treat for everyone.
Our farmland and cottages are on the northern tip of the Yorkshire Wolds. We run an arable farm alongside our holiday cottage enterprise. Throughout our farming life, we have paid special attention to the preservation and encouragement of native wildlife. From your cottage you are likely to see and hear both Barn and Tawny Owls, roe deer, hares, rabbits, small raptors, woodpeckers, pheasant and a huge variety of smaller birds. If you stay in any of the five cottages at High Barn, you will be able to watch, from your sofa, live footage of our pair of breeding Barn Owls, streamed from their nest box in the eaves of the building.
Escape to the peaceful countryside of this beautiful area of East Yorkshire. You’ll be world’s away from the noise and pollution of our towns and cities. With almost no light pollution, if there are clear skies, you’ll be able to see the myriads of stars above and marvel at the night sky
Spring is in the air, the days are lengthening and the sun is warming our lives. It’s a wonderful time of the year.
Our cottages are a perfect choice for a relaxing two or three night stay.
