1. The Booking Contract

1.1   The contract for a holiday rental will be between Heritage Escapes (referred to as “us” or “we”) and the party leader making the booking and all members of the holiday party (referred to as “you” and “your”) in the following booking conditions.

1.2  Please note Heritage Escapes is the trading name for the tourism branch of our business- Field House Farm (Sewerby) Ltd. UK law will govern the contract.

1.3  The contract of hire is not effective until we have processed the deposit.  The contract is subject to these booking conditions and must be complied with.

1.4  The party leader must be at least 18 years of age at the time of booking and the  name of  every member of the party must be  recorded on the booking form. Late alterations  can be made with the agreement of the owners but numbers must never exceed themaximum  number allowed per property.

2. Payment 

2.1 Bookings are confirmed on receipt of the deposit of 25% of the holiday cost.  The deposit is generally paid on booking but must be paid within 3 days of the booking being placed.

2.2 The balance of the rental will be due for payment 60 days prior to the start date of your holiday. If booking within 60 days of your arrival date, the full rent must be paid when the booking is made.

2.3 Card payment can be made on-line or by telephone, cheques should be made payable to Field House Farm (Sewerby) Ltd. Please contact us for details for direct bank transfer. All prices are in Pounds GB.

2.4 Guests can be assured that all payments are held securely by a globally trusted system verified by Opayo and Worldpay. Your data is securely held under GDPR rules.

3. Cancellation & Insurance

3.1 Please see our cancellation policy concerning the current cancellation arrangements. (All policy documents are included with your booking).

3.2 We strongly advise that guests take out holiday cancellation insurance when booking.

4. Liability

4.1 The proprietors and employees at Heritage Escapes shall not be liable to you or your party for any loss/damage to you or your property however caused. You must take all necessary steps to safeguard yourselves and your property.

5. Wi-Fi

5.1 Heritage Escapes offer all our guests free Wi-Fi in their properties, all guests must agree not to use the broadband connection provided for any unlawful purpose.

6. Care and use of the Property.

6.1  For the comfort of all our guests, All Heritage Escapes’ properties are all Non-Smoking/Non-Vaping

6.2 You are responsible for the property during your stay and are expected to take all reasonable care of its furniture, fittings and fixtures and effects in or around the property.

6.3 Should visitors cause nuisance or fail to treat the property with due care, we reserve the right to request them to leave and to refuse further bookings.

6.4 We never charge for accidental breakage of a small item of glassware, crockery etc.  However, if damage to the property or furnishings occurs, we will make a charge to cover the cost.

6.5 In the unlikely event that the property is left in an unacceptable condition that requires additional cleaning, we will levy a proportional charge and will send an additional bill (minimum £100.00). On departure, we expect all rubbish to be placed in the appropriately named bins.

6.6 We reserve the right of entry to the property at all reasonable times for the purposes of inspection or to carry out any necessary repairs or maintenance.

7. We Include

7.1 You will find ample provision of necessary kitchen equipment: kitchen roll, cling film, foil, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, washing powder etc and toiletries/toilet paper etc in the bathrooms. (See our website for further details of what we provide at each property)

7.2 We supply good quality towels and bed linen but please note we do not provide beach towels, you will need to bring your own.

7.3 Shared EV Charging is available at two of our locations (Field House Farm and High Barn Cottages), for which there is a small cost levied each time a vehicle is charged

7.4 CCTV and security lights operate at all our sites

8. Group Bookings

8.1 If you are wanting to take a number of the properties for a group booking, it is important that you contact us first to discuss the options.

8.2 We are unsuitable for “Stag” or “Hen” parties.

 

For each property location – Field House Farm Cottage, High Barn Cottages and York Old Brewery (apartments) there are separate protocols listed in the following three sections:

 

9. Field House Farm Cottages specific site Protocols

9.1 Field House Farm is our home, together with seven quality cottages and a working farm.  We are not open to the general public.

9.2 It is important to note, that we are both a holiday cottage establishment and a working farm.

       9.2.1   All farm buildings/straw stacks/farm machinery/vehicles are restricted to farm use only.

9.3 Heritage Escapes welcomes children of all ages at the Field House Farm site, where there is an outdoor playground suitable for under 10s, and plenty of space to play outdoor games.

9.4 Please be mindful that the outdoor facilities and the games areas are for our guests’ use only and are for shared use between the seven cottages.

9.5 We keep a few hens and cows.

9.6 Only guests named on the booking form may stay overnight.  We accept that guests might on occasion want friends or family to visit them during their stay and we ask to be kept informed prior to each visit.  We would remind guests that the facilities on offer in the cottages at Field House are exclusively for paying guests.

9.7  Additional visitors will be expected to use the overflow parking site if the main site is busy. We limit the number of visitors to no more than two per cottage at any one time in one vehicle.

9.8 Bookings at Field House Farm follow these patterns:

      • From late Autumn until the early Spring, we offer short breaks and weekly bookings, usually starting on either Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays.
      • At all other times we continue to operate the traditional pattern of weekly bookings from Saturday to Saturday.
      • The exception being our flagship, Garden Cottage, which operates on a similar basis to our High Barn site – please see options through the relevant booking process page on our website for this cottage

9.9 Arrivals at Field House Farm Cottages are between 3.00pm – 6.00pm unless otherwise requested.

9.10 Departures by 10.00am, please.

9.11 On departure, please place all rubbish in the appropriately named bins on your departure.

9.12 A CCTV system is in operation around the site for general security and peace of mind.

9.13 Shared EV charging is available at Field House Farm. There is a small cost levied each time a vehicle is charged.

9.14 Walking/cycling/family groups are most welcome. But please note, none of the cottages is equipped for large gatherings to eat/socialise together.

10. High Barn Cottages, specific site protocols

10.1 High Barn has been designed with wildlife in mind and provides a peaceful and tranquil holiday experience. It is a haven for wildlife.

10.2 High Barn has unguarded open water, so we urge all parents to exercise due vigilance. The site is not suitable for toddlers and very young children.

10.3 At High Barn, we will only accept children aged five years and above. Parents must supervise children at all times.

10.4 High Barn is a peaceful holiday retreat. Each cottage is equipped for a maximum of two additional adult day visitors.

10.5 Only guests named on the booking form may stay overnight.  We accept that guests might on occasion want friends or family to visit them during their stay and we ask to be kept informed prior to each visit.  We would remind guests that the facilities on offer in the cottages at High Barn are exclusively for paying guests.

10.5.1 You, as guests, will have to admit their entry to the site by operating the key fob for the electric gates.

10.6 We limit the number of visitors to no more than two per cottage at any one time in one vehicle.

10.7  You will find briquettes (or equivalent) for the log burning stove in the log basket

10.8 Bookings at High Barn follow these patterns:

      • Friday to Friday
      • Monday to Monday.
      • Short break bookings
      • Friday- Monday
      • Monday/Tues to Friday
      • Popular holiday periods will offer weekly bookings only

10.9 Arrivals at High Barn between 3.00pm – 6.00pm unless otherwise requested.

10.10 Departures by 10.00am, please.

10.11 On departure, please place all rubbish in the appropriately named bins on your departure.

10.12 A CCTV system is in operation around the site for general security and peace of mind.

10.13  Shared EV charging is available at High Barn Cottages. There is a small cost levied each time a vehicle is charged.

10.14 Walking/cycling/family groups are most welcome. But please note, none of the cottages is equipped for large gatherings to eat/socialise together.

11. York Old Brewery Apartments specific site Protocols

11.1 Please be mindful that The Old Brewery is primarily a residential site and we ask that you respect the privacy and peace of our neighbours.

11.2 Children are accepted from 12 years and above and must not be left unsupervised at any time whilst in the apartments.

11.3 The location and residential mix within The Old Brewery makes it unsuitable for hen or stag parties.

11.4 If you wish to take more than one apartment for a family booking, please contact us first to discuss options.

11.5 Within the courtyard, you have one allocated parking space.

11.6 Bookings at York Old Brewery follow these patterns:

  • Weekly bookings are from
  • Friday to Friday
  • Monday to Monday.
  • Short break bookings
  • Friday- Monday
  • Monday/Tues to Friday
  • Popular holiday periods will offer weekly bookings only

11.7 Arrivals at York Old Brewery after 4.00pm

11.7.1  Please note you do not have access to either the apartment or the car parking space until after 4.00pm. It will be needed by cleaning staff.

11.8 Departures by 10.00am, please.

11.9 York City Council and the other residents of the building work very hard to be environmentally friendly.

11. 10 A CCTV system is in operation around the site for general security and peace of mind.

11.11  Please place all your rubbish, tied securely in the bags provided,  in the large bin in the courtyard/car park area at the end of your stay.

We respectfully request that you do not cause any embarrassment by contravening any of these terms and conditions at any of the Heritage Escapes properties at any of our locations, thank you.
