Puffins at Bempton Cliffs
Spotting Puffins at Bempton Cliffs

Puffin in flight Bempton Cliffs. By Sal Cooke
Now is the time to watch the puffins nesting on the Yorkshire Coast
The puffins begin to arrive in numbers in early April and soon afterwards, to the joy of visitors to our coast, their nesting sites are well established and plainly visible from the viewing platforms and the clifftops at RSPB Bempton. Thousands of seabirds return to these cliffs each Spring and provide a spectacular sight for visitors. The visitor centre serves as a hub of information and is staffed by helpful and informative volunteers who are happy to answer all your questions. Not only will you see puffins, but hundreds of gannets, kittiwakes and guillemots make this their home too. Their acrobatic ability to swoop and dive without clashing into each other is truly a marvellous sight.
